About NCMTA The purpose of NCMTA is to promote an active interest in mathematics education by providing a forum for the interchange of ideas, and by encouraging research to improve the teaching of mathematics at all levels, elementary through college.
NCMTA sponsors a full schedule of events for students and for all teachers of mathematics on all levels from kindergarten through college. Students benefit from awards and scholarships, and from participation in our annual Family Math Day and the annual Student Symposium. We sponsor Teacher of the Year Awards and mini-grants for teachers. Workshops for teachers are offered at the following conferences: How To...Make Math Count, LIMAÇON and THAT (formerly known as CHAT), a conference which focuses on the use of technology in the classroom. NCMTA is proud to be a sponsor of the Alfred Kalfus Long Island Mathematics Fair.
